Family Photography

Let’s Capture the Beautiful Chaos!

The mantra is: real smiles, real moments, real life.

Hello and welcome, fellow parents, grandparents, and memory-makers!

It’s a whirlwind out there—chasing toddlers, bribing kids with snacks, and wondering how your baby suddenly turned into a teenager.

As a parent myself, I get it. In the (almost) words of Ferris Bueller, “Childhood moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

That’s where I come in!

I specialize in candid, authentic, and joy-filled family photography—because let’s be honest, kids rarely sit still for posed pictures anyway!

No awkward smiles, no stiff poses—just real, loving moments you’ll cherish forever.

My goal is to make photography fun! I aim for a relaxed approach to ensure even the most camera-shy family members feel at ease, resulting in natural, beautiful images.

Location, Location, Location

Where will our session take place?

Outside! Beaches, gardens, fields, forests—nature’s best playground. If you don’t have a spot in mind, I can offer suggestions for beautiful locations around the Geelong region.

At home! Perfect for snuggly newborn sessions or when getting out the door feels like an Olympic event.

Not in a studio. No artificial lighting, no fake backdrops—just real life, beautifully captured.

Sessions I Offer

From maternity and newborn sessions to playful family shoots and extended family gatherings, I’m here to help you celebrate every chapter of your family’s journey.

Maternity & Newborn – Document the joy of expecting and the early days of your baby’s life with gentle, intimate sessions. Because one day, you’ll miss that baby bump and those teeny, tiny toes.

Young Families & Kids – The giggles, the mischief, the absolute chaos—this is such a fleeting time, so let’s capture it all.

Extended Family & Reunions – Preserve the legacy of your family with portraits that bring everyone together. Or in other words, get a photo for Nana where everyone looks at the camera.

Pricing

Why pay for a family photoshoot? Because memories are priceless.

Sure, you could snap a quick phone photo of everyone, but let’s be real – half the family will be blinking, at least one kid will be mid-tantrum, and it’ll get lost in the wilds of your camera roll.

Plus, if you’re a mum (*raises hand*) you’re probably in less than 1% of the family photos and the percentage drops to zero when you only count photos that are flattering and candid (*raises hand again*).

My family photography is all about capturing the beautiful chaos, the genuine laughs, and those tiny in-between moments you never want to forget.

Yes, a professional photoshoot costs money. But so does DoorDash, and no one’s framing a picture of last night’s takeout.

On the other hand, your images will become heirlooms, smiled at for generations.

My sessions are affordable, stress-free and FUN (seriously, even the grumpy teenagers will crack a smile).

I also offer a range of price packages to enable you to choose a session length and number of photos which suits your budget.

So make the investment – because one day, these photos will be worth more than gold.

Testimonials

Just a bit of lovely feedback from happy campers ◡̈

“We have been so lucky to have Zoe capture some beautiful family memories for us. There is a reason why we rebook our photos with Zoe – she is wonderful to work with and the photos are always stunning! Recently she did an extended family photoshoot for us for my parents 40th wedding anniversary, and everyone keeps on raving about how beautiful the photos are! Zoe made everyone feel relaxed and took a great mix of posed and candid photos. Thank you again Zoe!!”

“Zoe did our family photos this weekend and we couldn’t be more happy. The kids were instantly at ease with her and my husband who isn’t a fan of posed photos quite happily accepted her directions and we managed more than one!!!!! family photo with everyone smiling and looking relaxed.”

“Zoe is an incredible photographer! She has a great eye for scouting out amazing back drops for photos and optimal lighting every time. She was super patient with our large and loud family! “We are so ecstatic with the photographs that Zoe took of our family/son to celebrate him turning two – she has captured his big personality. Zoe has a lovely, laid back demeanour and was very personable, professional and easy to talk to. I highly recommend Zoe for any of your photography needs – her work does not disappoint and we will keep her in mind for future occasions.”

“Absolutely amazing experience. Zoe was professional and super friendly. My whole family felt comfortable and at ease during the photoshoot and she did a great job at connecting with my children (2 and 5 months). Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where will my session take place?

A: I can photograph you at home or at a different location of your choice. If you don’t already have a particular location in mind, I can suggest a range of beautiful outdoor locations, from forests to fields to beaches to gardens. On the other hand, an in-home session is perfect for capturing your daily life in your own space. I recommend in-home sessions for newborns, because this allows you and your family to relax in a familiar environment while we work around your newborn’s schedule.

Q: How much will my session cost?

A: I offer a range of pricing packages which lets you tailor your shoot to your own preferences. You can find my current prices under the Pricing tab above. To calculate how much your session would cost, first choose the length of shoot you want (this will be your Session Fee). Then choose the number of digital images you would like (this will be your Digital Images Package).

Session Fee + Digital Images Package = total cost of session.

If your party is larger than 10 people, the minimum digital image package I offer is 50 photos. Keep this in mind when calculating your total price!

Q: I/my husband/my dog/my house isn’t
photogenic/isn’t comfortable in front of the camera. Should we still book a session?

A: Don’t stress – most people feel this way! This is why you’re hiring a professional 🙂 I will give you all the feedback you need to pose naturally, get into the most flattering light, and generally look and feel your best. If we are doing an in-home session, all your house needs is a basic tidying up. I have taken photos in all kinds of houses and will be able to identify the best locations for your family’s pictures. And if you’re worried about fussy babies, grumpy toddlers, angsty teenagers or reluctant husbands – I’ve got heaps of experience with all of the above… and have developed an arsenal of advanced level ninja tricks for getting great photos regardless.

Q: Where are you based? Are you
willing to travel?

A: I am based in Geelong and will travel free of charge to anywhere in the Geelong region, including Lara, the Bellarine & Torquay. If you have another location in mind, feel free to reach out for a quote!

Q: What should I wear for my session?

A: The most important thing is to wear something you feel relaxed and natural in. You can be as dressy or as casual as you like. Beyond that, a few universal tips:

  • Aim for neutrals, earth tones, jewel tones or pastel colours
  • Solid colours or subtle patterns are best
  • Textured fabrics (eg. denim, linen, corduroy, knits) photograph really well
  • Avoid black or other dark shades (they appear blocky)
  • Avoid neon colours, loud patterns, images & logos
  • Dress babies warmly and in layers (cold babies get grumpy, but also appear blue-ish – not ideal!)

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Your session fee is due as a deposit in advance of the shoot. For cancellations at least one week in advance, 50% of your session fee will be returned. For cancellations less than one week in advance, the session fee is nonrefundable. In the event of poor weather, you will have the choice of either using an indoor location (I can recommend some) or rescheduling your shoot. If there are other unavoidable obstacles to completing the shoot as scheduled (eg. illness) you will have the chance to reschedule.

Q: When will I get my photos back?

A: Galleries of 100 photos or less are guaranteed to be returned within one week of your session. Galleries of more than 100 photos are guaranteed to be returned within two weeks of your session. However, unlike many photographers, I aim to edit each gallery immediately after the session, and am often able to return your photos within only a day or two 🙂

Q: Any tips for our session?

A: For an outdoor shoot, wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes and bug spray! Being physically comfortable will make your photos more relaxed and natural. For an indoor shoot, open curtains and turn off indoor lights – the more natural light, the better! If you have young children, consider bringing snacks, toys or props to the session to keep them entertained. For example, some families bring bubbles, balloons, or favourite stuffed toys (aren’t they part of the family too?) – all of which can make for fun photos.

Q: Do you photograph weddings?

A: I do. Check out my Weddings page for more information!
